video matching fees

I travel the logan motorway up to 5 times per week. I am often charged video matching fees as at least 1/4 of the toll gates I travel through. I don't understand why my tag can be activate some of the time and not others. I even experimented with changing lanes under the toll bridge and would find it would beep. There at times seems to be no reason why my tag beeps at some tolls and not others but I am charged the video matching fee. It must be an absolute money spinner! Why does it cost so much because it friggin adds up adding to the work related fees I simply don't need?
